Saddles

OK, so here is where I need your help dear readers. I've always had trouble with being comfortable on the saddle of my bike and have changed it few times and whilst the things have improved I am kind of thinking that it can get better. Either that or I am living in a dream. But I really really think that I can be far more comfortable on my bike.

So could you please let me know what saddle you use and whether you like it. Any information is very much appreciated.

I have a San Marco on my new bike and I love it. No problems. :)

I've got a Specialized (one of the women's specific) saddles. I think it's technically supposed to be a mtb saddle, but it makes my goods feel ok.
Just go try a bunch. Best decision I ever made. Who would think to buy a mtb saddle otherwise?

Hey - I have the ISM Adamo saddle. It looks like a cattle prong - but it is really comfortable. It basically allows you to use your sits bones as pressure points - it can take a few rides to get used to... BUT - there is NO SOFT TISSUE or "lady bits" discomfort. And it allows me to get down in aero with relative ease and comfort. The first time I used this saddle was on a 3 hour trainer ride - and I haven't gone back since.

I've heard good things about the Specialized saddles...but Deirdre is right - test out a bunch. Most bike shops are really good about letting you try out a few before you actually make a purchase.

The ISM works for me - but not everyone I know who has tried it loves is...but its worth giving it a go. I was at the end of my rope with my old saddle...

Good luck!

I ride on a fi'zi:k arione. It's worked just fine. It's not like a lazy boy or anything but I've not had any problems either! :) Good luck!

Like Marit, I have the ISM Adamo. Absolutely no chafing in the "middle" areas anymore, but it takes a little getting used to for your sit bones that now bear the weight. I find that copious amounts of Aquaphor as lube help a lot. The first time I rode it (4 hr ride), the thigh contact started feeling like a groin pull but I never felt that again. It is most comfy when in aero.

I have some sort of Specialized womens saddle. I like it pretty well. I wouldn't go by me though, I don't ride very much, and I kinda hate biking.

I have the terry damselfly on my tri bike and the fizik arione on the road bike. I LOVE the arione, and am happy with the damselfly.

I have Fisik Vitesse, I like it tons! It works well enough even in a Splish for 112 miles!
Good luck finding one you like :)
